What is Biology Definition

What is Biology definition

The branch of Science in which we study about the living things especially reference of structure, reproduction, and behavior.
Biology is the natural science deals with the study of the living organism and life. In general, Biology is the study of cell and the basic unit of life ( such as genes is the basic unit of life ).

History of Biology:

" Biology"  is the word of Greek which means "Study of life". An organism consists of one or several cells such as animal, plants, and fungi. Using biological science tools, we can check and study the behavior and classification of organisms.
In 1973, Swedish scientist used the first-time biology in his Bibliotheca Botanica. The Biology word again used by the great philosophical Tomus III and continue by Micheal Christoph Hanover . The first German used this term in 1771. From morphological, Karl  Friedrich Burdach used Biology in 1800. Then this term came into modern usage by Gottfried Reinhold Treviranus.
The ancient civilization such as Indian, Egypt, and Mesopotamia studied the Natural Philosophy. Al Jahiz ( 781-869 ), the Islamic world scholar, who wrote on biology and Al-Dinawari (828-899 ), also the Islamic world scholar, who wrote on Botany and Rhazes, who wrote on physiology and anatomy. The Islamic scholar especially studies on Medicine and was working on Greek traditions.
The theory of evolution firstly presented by Jean-Baptiste LamarckLamarck was sure that this theory could be passed on offspring of animals. With Anton Van Leeuwenhoek's improvement of Microscope, then the biology began to develop quickly.
Jan Swammerdam investigated the Entomology and helped the scientist Microscope staining and dissection. Aristotle worked on the History of Animals and naturalist leanings and after he focused on the diversity of life and biological causation.
Modern biology is the study of nature. Although, modern biology is recent development based on ancient theories of great ancient scientist, which is very helpful for the study of living things, non-living things.

Biogeography deals with the study of species temporally and spatially and their distribution.
- Zoology
The branch of Biology deals with the study of animals and behavior of animals.
-Cell Biology
Cell Biology deals with the study of chemical and molecular interaction that occurs within living things and cell as a complete unit.
-Genetics
The main branch of biology deals with the study of Heredity and Genes.

-Ecology
The study of non-livings things of their environment and interaction of living things with one another is called Ecology.

-Anatomy

-Histology
The study of tissues and cells.

- Botany

- Evolutionary Biology
The study of Descent and origins changes in the diversity of ti
me.
